I'm currently reading a book about teaching and it's funny seeing connections from the book to my life. The book is called "
The Greatest Catch" by Penny Kittle. The book is about teaching but I think other readers can benefit from this book too. So far its an amazing book talking about her successes in teaching but also her failures.
"When you're teaching you're going to see people who cut corners, don't work as hard as they should, or just complain all the time about everything. I believe you've got to do what's right, every single day of your life, even if the rest of the crowd isn't."

It makes me think of the people I have run into that cut corners and look for the easy way out, even if it has negative effects on others. "No one else is working so why should I." or "No one is looking so no one will know what I have done" You should try and stay away from people like this, they will only bring you down with them. I'm sure everyone has cut corners before or still do I know I am guilty too but there are things that one must realize the effects you can have on yourself and others. I could sit at work all night and do my homework if I wanted to but then I would leave more work for everyone else. No one is watching me so no one will know except me. Even if no one is watching you must do the right thing it matters even if its just you that knows that you have done what's right. As a teacher you must realize that you have to do what's right because the kids are depending on you. This applies to other things in life when others depend on you.
